Scorers, scores, welcome back. Welcome back to the show. It's your boy Sean Sug Amos. This is a real Hooper show. And we got a lot going on. Your boy SGA took away the MVP. We got OKC and the Spurs in that semifinals. We have the Knicks, the Cleveland Cavaliers in that Eastern Conference semifinals. We got to talk about Skip Bayless on Gill's Arena. I want to talk about some of the young Hoopers, the EYBL. Then we got to talk about my man Drake. Drake dropped the album, man. I got my guy here, my guy E. What's good, my boy?
SPEAKER_00What's good, bro?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we listen. I know you're excited about the Drake. We're going to get there in a second. I know. I know you're excited. But that's going to be at the end. Real music drop this week. God, real music drive. I rocks with it, bro. I rocks with it. But look, SJ got MVP. Two years in a row. Two years in a row, man. He is one of 14 players to do it, to win two consecutive MVPs. Do you think he deserves it?
SPEAKER_00I think he deserved it. It was a good year for him.
SPEAKER_01It was a good year for him. I agree. He had 83 votes. The next highest voter was Nikola Jokic with 10 votes for the first place. He got his boys APs, trench coats, you know?
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_01If you feeling them gifts?
SPEAKER_00I'm feeling the gifts. He's a good gift, bro. Those are solid gifts.
SPEAKER_01So you like the trench coats? Of course, bro. So how you coming with the trench coats?
SPEAKER_00Trench coats. I'm coming like, what's his name? Spector Gadget. Spectre Gadget.
SPEAKER_01Spectre Gadget with the AP on. Yep. Doctor Who, all of them, bro. Alright, man. I like it. Yeah, you know what, man? I like that. You really, I know, I know people do that, but you know, I don't think they do it as big as they, you know, it does uh SGA do it, right? Like putting on film and showing his uh giving his boys love. And it kind of changed the culture too. When kids do the post-game uh interviews, they all do it. Yeah, bring the team over here. We're about to have an interview. I like that, man. I like what SGA is doing. I like what OKC is doing, man. Um, like I said, he's the fourth team, excuse me, fourth one of fourteen to have two consecutive back-to-back MVPs. He's eighth international, eighth international to have the MVP. The other, the other seven is Steve Nash, um, Hakeem, Hakeem Alajwan, um, Dirk Nowinsky, Giannis, Nicole Jokic, Joel MB, Tim Duncan. So, you know, man, congratulations to him. Um, right now, as of right now, he is he has more MVPs than these legends. He has more MVPs than Shaq. He has more MVP than Kobe. He has more MVPs than Garnett, Barkley, he has more MVPs than Durant, Harden, Iverson, Russell Westbrook, D. Wade, Dirt Nowinsky. Is he ahead of those guys now? I don't think he's ready yet. You don't think he's ready yet? You know what's funny, man? You gotta start putting him in there, bro. Like you gotta like saying you gotta start putting him in there. I know, I know it was a long route. I know it was a long. I mean, look, he got a lot of playing to do, right? Like, God forbid, what if he falls off? You know? You know, what if he hit a Brandon Roy on you? What if he hit a Derrick Rose on you? You know? But I don't see that in his future, man. I see him going the way his energy is, the way his team embraced him, the way he embraced team basketball, the way he loves basketball. You can see it, you can tell. I just don't see him falling off anytime soon. Last year, his team was 64 and 14. 64 and 14. Uh, he shot 55% from the field, 39% from the um the three-point, from three-point land. Uh he gets to the he gets to the line, he gets to a bucket, and he only about he only averaged about two turnovers a game, man. So I think this is this MVP is well deserved. Well deserved. Shout out to SGA and the OKC Thunder. I'm looking forward to seeing how they play this upcoming um Western Conference Finals. We'll get into that in a second. But um, I just got finished watching the Detroit and the Cleveland Cavaliers, man. Did you get a chance to watch that eight? I did watch it, bro. It was a blow my dog. Who you had winning that?
SPEAKER_00I had I had to I didn't have no horse in the race, but I just want to see a good one.
SPEAKER_01I'm not gonna lie to y'all, man. Y'all follow us and y'all follow us on all the major social media sites. I thought Detroit was going to take it, but but I did say they had to be bullies. I did say the Detroit had to be bullies for four games. They weren't bullies today. They wasn't bullies today. Every time Donovan Mitchell wanted to get to the paint, he got there. Nobody stopped him. It was it was it was open season. Anytime, what's the boy your name? Sam Morell? Sam Merrill. Sam Murrell. I mean, he he had 15 points in the first half. He just went off. He just went crazy. I just feel like they just mentally wasn't there. They just couldn't figure it out. Um, K Cutterhand didn't have the best game. K Cutterhand didn't have the best game. So that anytime Kay Cutterhand doesn't have the best game, that always threws him off. I mean, Kay Cutter had 12 points, 12 points on 13 shots. He had he only had two turnovers, but what killed him is that he couldn't make a three. He was 0 for 5 from three point from the three-point land. Um so that made it, that made it challenging for them. Um Jalen Duran, excuse me, damn, man. Excuse me. Jalen Duran, uh Durant, he he hasn't showed up the entire series. I mean, maybe the first game. I believe the first game, he, if I'm if I'm not mistaken, the first game, he had seven points. I think he had one game, he had 15 points. He had he had 15 points, right? Um, but other than that, he just wasn't there. Seven, nine, eight. Um, seven, nine, and eight. He just wasn't there, man. He just wasn't there.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of Jalen Durant, how do you feel about him this coming up this offseason? He was supposed to get like a big contract or something like that, supposed to be in the works. Do you think he's deserving of that big contract? Do you think this next season the next season they should move off him? What are your thoughts around him over overall?
SPEAKER_01I mean, look, he averaged 19 points this season. He averaged 19 points this season. 10 rebounds. He's a double-double guy. I think he bounced back. Kid from Philly. I think he bounced back. Uh, you said a max contract?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he was trying to get a max contract, but that was that was in the talks, you know. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you don't lose him. You don't want to lose him, but I don't know if he's a max contract ready. Um, especially after this performance. You in a closeout game, you give us seven points. You give us seven points on seven shots. You had nine rebounds, but stats always say this. It doesn't tell the full story. You can have nine rebounds, but that doesn't mean you couldn't have 16 rebounds, 15 rebounds. But you didn't get more than nine rebounds, not because you was working your you was working hard, you was working hard, it's because Jalen Allen, Jared Allen was kicking your ass. He was kicking your ass. You you didn't play bad because you weren't trying to shoot the ball. You played bad because Evan Mobley and Jared Allen was too much for you. It's just that simple. So do we deserve a max contract? I don't think he deserves a max contract. I think he deserves a good contract. I think they should go for trying to keep him. But when you think about it, I I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit gives him a max contract because there's not a lot of big men out there. There's not a lot of big men out there, man. Evan Mobley had 21, 12, and 6. 12 and 6. That's what that's what they pay him for to stop that. He couldn't stop that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know? So um I was I'm not gonna lie, I was disappointed. I was disappointed in Detroit. Um, and I was also disappointed, although they won, although they won, I was disappointed in James Harden.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's how come?
SPEAKER_01But here's the thing, right? James Harden is known for not playing defense. The fact that Cade Cutterhead kept looking for a switch to ISO him and go around him and score, and he wasn't stepping up to the to the challenge, I'm disappointed in that. Then he has a bad reputation for game seven. Today was no different. Today was no different. He had a, I mean, I believe he, I'm looking right now, he had nine points. Nine points. He was two for ten from the field. He was five from eight from the free throw line. Of course, he had six assists, but again, this is the games where you got to step it up. Obviously, it didn't matter because other guys was hot. Jared Allen had 23 points, Evan Mooley had 21 points. Donovan Mitchell came out dogging him. Yeah. 26 points. He had 26 points, eight assists, and zero turnovers. And I get to him in a second. But James Harden, and then Sam Murrell comes off the bench and gives you 23 points. Right? But again, I always tell you guys this man. I'm a big James Harden fan. Right? But I know at this stage of his career, his name is going to be heavier than what he can produce night in and night out in these tough playoff games. Until he proves us wrong. A game seven, nine points, two for ten shooting, five from eight from the free throw line, six assists is great. The beauty of it is he only had one turnover. But he needs to be on teams like this where guys are more hungry than him. Him being on the clippers, Harden being on the Clippers, doesn't help him because he's the most experienced with the basketball. He's the most experienced with the basketball, and then uh what's his name? What's my guy's name? Kawhi. Kawhi, Kawhi Leonard, he he's all he's not always reliable. But other than that, I was very pleased with the with uh Cleveland. I was very pleased with Cleveland. Donovan Mitchell, he had 26 points, six assists, eight assists, zero turnovers, which was great. The first quarter, the first half, he had 13 points and six assists. Um he was on straight attack mode. I'm one of these guys who I'm not gonna lie to you. I didn't always believe in him. I didn't always believe in Donovan Mitchell. Because I always say Donovan and Mitchell will give you the stats all the way up until the point until it's time to win. This is his first Eastern Conference or uh semi-conference game. So I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping he keep the energy. They got a they got a quick turnaround before the first game against the Knicks. The Knicks been resting. I believe they play on Tuesday.
SPEAKER_00They play on Tuesday, yes.
SPEAKER_01They play on Tuesday. So they got a quick turnaround. One night, one night off, and they back at it. And sometimes that can help. Because you don't gotta wait to get back in the rhythm. Then for James Harden, say you don't gotta, yo, let me go to Houston real quick, I'll be back. He ain't got no time now. Yeah, you already know. If he had, listen, if he had a week off, all right, listen, bro, I'm going to Vegas, I'll be back. But nonetheless, man, shout out to Cleveland Cavaliers for holding it down. Shout out to all my Cleveland people. Uh, much love to you guys, man. Much respect. Cleveland Cavaliers is back in the conference finals since the LeBron era. Now we got the Spurs. We got the Spurs and OKC Thunder. This is gonna be exciting, bro. This is gonna be a good one. This is gonna be a good one. Right now, the Spurs hold the season uh record for they won four out of their five games. Um, but here's the thing the season record don't matter. Because OKC, they've been here before. They've been in this position before. They're gonna take us to the next level. The Spurs, they still young. They still little, you know wet behind the ears. They wet behind the ears. You feel me? So they they they got it they gotta strategize, they gotta execute, they gotta be disciplined. Okay, they could they come into the game, trench coats and APs on. They locked in. They thought that's that's why he gave them the trenches. Yeah, yeah. He let them know this is that we're coming for business. We streak straight coming for business, man. Um, but okay, one of the things I like that I saw over the four the five games that they played, OKC does a good job with Wimby when they put smaller guards on them, like smaller guys on them, because Wimby's gravity, the gravity that Wimby has on the court, and that that's where they get their points from. So when they pass the ball to Wimby and Wimby is a willing passer, as a willing passer, they gotta rotate quick. They can't have two bigs on the court the whole time. They can't have two bigs on the court the whole time. So they get so they really gotta have them guards ready to go. I think uh guys like Alex Caruso does a good job with staying up under the big players, the the centers and whatnot. Um, Caruso's not gonna do nothing to WinB, bro. He's not, no, no, no, no, no, listen, listen, listen. The thing about it is you you thinking about height. You thinking about player versus height. Yeah, yeah. Nah, like if you understand, real hoopers understand this. When you guard in a taller player, right? Yeah. And you're stronger, you can keep him at the elbow to stay up under him. Once he catches the ball and you and once he catches the ball, they double. He gonna he gonna kick it. So they need to rotate quick. So they need guards. But if you keep Harkenstein and Chet on and they double, or they have to rotate, Harkenstein ain't gonna get out there quick enough. Williams ain't gonna get out there quick enough. So Caruso to have it, but you're gonna always keep a seven, a seven-footer out there, but you're gonna be able to get one when they switch off these screens, when they switch on a rotation, these smaller, these smaller guards, uh, Caruso like six, five, six, six. Yeah, yeah. He's a strong. You saw what he did to uh Nicola. You saw what he did to Nicola.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Cole and he's not another Wimby though.
SPEAKER_01Nicola was cooking Wimby. What you mean? When the last time they played in the season, Nicola was cooking him.
SPEAKER_00But uh, because I was watching the the when we played against the Timberwolves, there would be times where he had smalls on him and he just walked him out to the basket, they throw it up, it just was a quick little tip of the biggest.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but Timberwolves, Timberwolves didn't have the same gameplay on OKC. OKC gonna play some defense, bro. OKC, some dogs. They philosophy is you can't call foul on all of us. That's real, I'm just being honest. That's their philosophy.
SPEAKER_00Nah, yeah, yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_01You can't call fire on all of us. That's how listen, man. I don't want to go on a long tangent, right? But when I was in junior college, that's how we played. All right, we played when I played at Aloney, the coach, his philosophy was they can't call fire on everyone. So they're gonna be aggressive. They're gonna be aggressive. Look, they have the most, they force the most turnovers in the league. They forced 16 turnovers at average on 16 turnovers. So if you get these guys turning the basketball over, it's a dub.
SPEAKER_00But you got some dolls at a guard position over there. You do. This is why it's gonna be a fight. Okay. It's gonna be a fight. I'm excited to see it, though. Jalen Williams is back. Jalen Williams said he's back. Yo, yeah. He said he's back. But he hasn't played in the first two rounds at all, bro.
SPEAKER_01But that's but look, here's how I'm gonna view it, though. I'm because some guys want, some guys will say they're healthy because they want to play. Right? So some guys are saying, I'm I'm healthy, I want to, I just want to hoop. But I'm gonna watch him. That first step, that that first time he gets to explode, is he really healthy? Because he, I think, I believe he had a sprained hamstring.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that he had a sprained hamstring. So if he's not exploding, he's not getting to the basket like he usually do, he might be still hurt. He might be still hurt. So we're gonna keep an eye on him. We're gonna keep an eye on him. But other than that, um who I predict to win this series, though, I know the underdogs. I know they're underdogs. But I'm gonna go with the Spurs. Here's what I think they need to do, though. They need to do. You gotta limit Shay's paint touches. You can't let him get two feet in the paint. You get two feet in the paint, collapsing everything. Collapses everything. Um, the X Factor is Dylan Harper. For the Spurs? Yeah, he the he the X Factor, bro. He leaves all bench scorers in the playoffs. All bench scores in the playoffs. He's 60% from the field. Um, and he's he's a rookie in a veteran with a veteran's mindset. His dad won a couple championships. He he over here he in the he behind the scenes. He behind the scenes. Um, but like I said, I like the Spurs in this series. Um, but I'm gonna always go with the underdogs. I'm gonna go with the underdogs. I want to see Wimby win his first championship. But look, I'm not mad. I'm not, I'm not, I like where basketball is at right now, bro. I I genuinely do. Like, I think this is a season for basketball lovers. I think last year was for basketball casuals, right? This year, I just feel like it's just for basketball lovers. If you love basketball, man, you enjoy all these playoff series, all these playoff games. I mean, this is a game. Today we watched another game seven, right? Like we getting game sevens. I mean, it was a blowout, but it's still, but still, it's still a good, it's still some good series. Let's move on to the Knicks and Cavs, man. Knicks and Cavs, bro. Oh my goodness. Now the Knicks, they listen. The Knicks got my Phillies, my sixes out of here, man. The Knicks got my sixes out of here, but look, I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at it, because being from Philly, you're two hours away, hour and a half away from New York. If I had to see anyone win a championship, or at least compete for a championship, why not the Knicks? Like I told you guys on the last show. I remember the Knicks was in the finals back in 1999. They had Marcus Camby, they had Larry Johnson, they had Latrell, Alan Houston, I believe, but Patrick Ewing on that, I believe Patrick Ewing. It's been a while. But I really wanted to see them win. I don't think Patrick Ewing was on there. I might be tripping. Check that. It's a 1999, Knicks roster. But I really, I really wanted to see them win. I really wanted to see them shine, man. And they fell short to the San Antonio Spurs. Back then, I wasn't a fan of the San Antonio Spurs. I thought they was kind of boring. But I was also young. I was also, I think I was about 14, 15, something like that. But now the Knicks is back, the Knicks is back. I want to see them, I want to see them excel. But again, this is going to be another dog fight. No Patrick Ewan. No Patrick Ewing. The Patrick Ewing right there. Where do you see him, man? Let me third three. Look, down there, third three. Let me third three.
SPEAKER_00I'm tripping.
SPEAKER_01My fault. So um, so yeah, man, I I really want to, it's gonna be a dog fight with them. Cavs right now, they lead this, they lead the season series two. They have a two-and-three record over the Knicks. But here's the thing. The two games that the Cavs won, they didn't have James Harden. James Harden didn't play. James Harden only played in one of the games. And that game that he did play, the Knicks beat by like over a 20 plus win. It was a 20 plus win. So um, but the last time they played was three months ago. A lot can change in three months. And and Brunson and those guys, they're resting. I think you're gonna have a dog, a dog fight with Donovan Mitchell and Brunson. That's gonna be a good matchup, man.
SPEAKER_00Donovan for Jalen Brunson?
SPEAKER_01Damn, yeah. Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson are gonna be a really good matchup. Who do you think is a better guard? That's a good question. Who you taking?
unknownDamn.
SPEAKER_01I ain't gonna lie to you. I like Donovan Mitchell. Over Jalen Brunson? Yeah, I like Donovan Mitchell, bro. I think Jalen Brunson might be a smarter player.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But I like Donovan Mitchell. Donovan Mitchell, even watched him since Utah. Um, he finally got over the hump. I like his scoring ability. I like his athleticism. I just want him to stay consistent. I just want him to stay consistent. But I do like his game. I think it's more of a game. Like here's the thing, right? When it comes to those type of players, I always say this. It's not about the stats, it's about the story. Right? Donovan Mitchell, I love his story. I love, I love the way he came into the league and he and he was that guy. I believe he was he the rookie of the year?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he was rookie of the year.
SPEAKER_01He was the rookie of the year. So I like the guys who come into the league and they come into the league, they got big shoes to fill and they fill them. They got a lot of pressure on their back and they and they handle the pressure. He just got over the hump by getting to the finals. I know Brunson's been there before, but I also don't think Brunson came in the league with the same expectations of pressure. Right? So he emerged into the star. So, nonetheless, I do think it's gonna be a dog fight between the two. It's gonna be a dog fight. Um, Cleveland has the most experience, though. Cleveland has the most experience in the playoffs. The top eight rotating players um has played a combined 550 playoff games. So they so they have so they have the experience they also won on their last they last two game sevens so they so they know how to they know how to finish out series they know how to finish out series but listen man although I think donovan to have to I think Donovan will win like the matchup I see the Knicks winning it though you see you see Donovan winning the matchup between Bronson yeah I think I think Donovan gets the best of Jalen Brunson because here's the here's the reason why the Knicks played good when Jalen Brunson shares the ball Donovan the Cleveland Cavaliers play good when Donovan Mitchell was aggressive so then now you got to make a decision. What do you really want Jalen Brunson? Do you want to win the matchup or do you want to win the series?
SPEAKER_00If you want to win the series might need to average around 21 to 24 points a game if you want to win the matchup go ahead and go for 28 to 36 points a game but Jalen Brunson he he is he still the Knicks still win games when Jalen Brunson goes drops 36 you know so when he's on the when he's on that rhythm when he's on the heater.
SPEAKER_01But it's not about winning the games it's about winning the series and when the win and real hoop is understand this right when you have a guard who is consistently passing the ball and sharing that basketball everybody energy's up cat want to run the floor hard he wants to grab more rebounds he wants to take his time there's no emotion behind the ball because they feel like they're going to get it back. But when you sit and you jab, jab, hezzy pump fake, get to the paint, jump stop, um show the fade away you doing that and then cat wide open, he starts shooting the ball with emotions. Oh next time I get the ball I'm I'm putting it up then OG doing the same thing. Then Miles Bridges ain't in the loop Miles Bridges the Knicks play well when Miles Bridges in the loop so it's just a matter of their roles. Donovan Mitchell plays well when he's aggressive you can we already see this you can take out Harden you can take Harden out. And then if if you can maintain the other guys like don't let these guys be heroes Sam Murrow and and Max and and keep Jared Allen off the off the glass got a chance got a chance man let's let's talk about this E did you see Skip Bayless on uh Gil's Arena bro I did see that bro did you see him bro he had all these papers in his lap and he said listen he goes off and says yeah I got three things I like about LeBron first off one of the things was a power dribbler what the heck is a power dribbler all those NBA players on that on that couch ain't nobody gonna check him and say yo what's a a power dribbler listen they gonna here's my thing bro here's my thing they will harp on this whole four and six he's four and six with no context like he's four and six all right let's put some context on it three out of these three uh series that he lost he averaged 33 plus I believe one or two of them he had he averaged a triple double they won't convince you that that's bad but tell you it was cool when Jordan did it in the first round when Jordan scored 40 in the first round of laws that was way better than LeBron averaging a triple double in the finals. They're gonna tell you about the 2011 series and say Jason Terry outscored him as if that Dallas team didn't sweep the defending champions Jason Terry outscored Kobe the last two games they gonna sit there and tell you that oh yeah he lost to the Spurs and he only got to the finals that year is because the East was weak. But they never gonna say the East wasn't weak when the Heat won in 2006. It wasn't weak when the Celtics won in 2008 it wasn't weak when Detroit Pistons won in 2004 but all of a sudden the East was weak when the 22 year old LeBron is in the finals. All of a sudden they're gonna sit look they go they sitting around asking questions like was LeBron's tenure at lake with the Lakers a success? You asking the wrong question the real question you should be asking is what did you expect out of his tenure? Because last I checked he came to a losing team last I checked the Lakers was losing for five seasons one of those seasons the Lakers only won 17 games LeBron James coming there two years later in the championship he leading the league in assist the Lakers has a number one record in the league they'll tell you about the super team right but they not gonna tell you that every team he went to they had a losing record the year before and every team he left they had a losing record. It don't sound so super if he ain't on it right they won't sit there and try to convince you that four and six is a loser's way somehow none of them did it somehow none of them did it and here's the thing it's not about defending LeBron it's about the talking of two media narratives media narratives these the same narratives that make people fear going outside narratives will make people scared to go to cities they never been because a narrative is the violence there. Narratives make you fear people they'll tell you that oh this is the LeBron's page meanwhile all I'm trying to do is use the tool of basketball to help you think outside the box. Look at the logo the guys in the vehicle that's your mind the balls in the air in the in the and out of space i'm trying I'm trying to use a tool of basketball to help you think past narratives. So you can be optimistic you can be creative but they gonna sit there and try to convince you that this boy wasn't who he was they gonna try to tell you about clutch genes as if this dude didn't come back from a 3-1 deficit as he didn't score 23 points straight in closeout games. They really gonna sit there and try to convince you of this if you had to stop LeBron James Kobe Bryant Michael Jordan's career in the 15 year mark Michael Jordan would have had scored 1200 points more but LeBron James would have had had 3000 to 4000 assists and rebounds than Jordan and Kobe. So no wonder he he missed out on 1200 points but they'll tell you it's longevity. So to see Skip Bayless get on that couch and do all that you gotta be kidding me man. You gotta be kidding me see they want you they want to brainwash you to think like sheps I'm trying to brainwash you to think elite man I'm trying to brainwash you to think elite so make sure y'all tap in man but look I was amused by it I was amused by the stuff they were saying but I just couldn't believe we had NBA players on that couch and someone said LeBron's a great power dribbler and not one person intervened. Come on man now another thing I want to talk about uh see Anthony Edwards shake everybody hand yeah I seen that too I seen that that was that was well how you feel about that I'm I was just confused on why he did it yeah I was confused I'm like I'm looking at him like you running for president yeah like what you doing bro eight minutes left in the game come on bro that is confusing like why would you do that yeah but see this is this is what I'm trying to tell you tell guys man like y'all say oh man it's the killer mentality it's the killer instinct it's the bro what are y'all talking about these dudes are friends they ain't no killer the dudes lost I don't know why he did that I wouldn't recommend he did it I wouldn't have did it matter of fact I probably would have walked off I probably would have walked off not because I'm mad at the Spurs it would have been bro I'm mad at myself oh man listen I'm out man you know fist bumps we out but I don't know why Anthony Edwards did that man but it it it brings me to my last point I was watching the EYBL I think I believe it was in Memphis and I'm not gonna lie man it's just it was just sloppy it was just sloppy bro like Anthony Edwards shaking hands at eight minutes left in the game I'm watching the EYBL later on that night and I'm I'm talking about the shots they were shooting there was no passing and here's the thing that's sad to me man I can tell that the coaches in the huddles was trying to teach stuff I could see them drawing stuff up and the first thing they do is come out and shoot it the sad part is that kids don't even want to learn basketball no more. I don't think the parents even care about them learning basketball anymore. I think if it's my kid versus your kid thing my kid versus the world they not concerned with passing they're not concerned with being a better player they're not concerned with developing to good guards they only concerned with their stats. That's it they just concerned with their stats I'm watching a coach draw up a play kid comes out shoot it quickly the first thing that comes to my mind is kids don't love basketball anymore they like it they don't love like I remember I went to the Easter invitational camp and there was this guy and he said he used to train ball ball white guy uh short guy I wish if somebody in the comments know who I'm talking about go ahead and drop the name but he said he used to train Paul Pierce when he told me that I want I was trying to be his group every time anything I can learn from him I'm taking with me. Now I ain't turning to Paul Pierce but at the end of the day I just wanted to be a sponge I just wanted to learn to this day I still do drills that my coach taught me when I was 15 years old kids don't even want to learn no more they don't even want to learn basketball I can be talking to a kid about like the fundamentals I can tell him hey man you don't get 20 shots a game so make sure you value the shots you take when we're here in practice a kid will blurt out but SGA does really of course he does he can pay $60 million of course he does and that's what and that's where the mindset is with basketball nowadays. So when I'm looking at these kids at the EYBL I'm like this is division one talent this is what the kid this is what people want to be around and maybe I maybe I quote a bad game I could be completely wrong I could I probably quote a bad game there might be some real live dogs out there because I've seen some good high school players I've seen uh what what's the what's my man named Jamal Crawford's son with with with the number one uh Stokes though oh yeah yeah those guys are so fucking yeah though there are some good basketball players out there but some of the stuff I'm like this is what the kids be talking about this this right here y'all they just jacking no there's no structure in it man but nonetheless man seeing Anthony Edward shake a team's hand at eight minutes left and seeing those kids play the way they was playing I was like basketball is cooked basketball is cooked man but we we still got the NBA we still got some good we still got some we got AJ DeBanta we we we're yeah he coming up man we we we got some uh we got some we got some good players out there bro and I'm looking forward I'm looking forward to it man but nonetheless man that's all I got for y'all today make sure y'all tapa whoa what we got what we got real music dropped this weekend oh my gosh yes yes oh oh my gosh I'm almost disappointed come on man real music see that that that's see that's see that's how good it was to me that's how good Iceman was to me I forgot about it I'm not gonna lie to you all right all right let's get into it let's get into it I told myself I'm gonna be going we're gonna do some entertainment stuff all right listen here's the thing about the Iceman thing right that's hilarious I do I did like the Iceman album um but I feel like I feel like LeBron and Drake suffer from the same thing the expectation's too high it's too high I think the sound has changed um my personal opinion Drake he's too focused on getting back getting back at everybody like there's so many people he referenced I didn't even know he had beef with like what's what would DJ Kyler do? What Jay Z do like you know I mean like all these sneak dissons and it's like yo Virginia Virginia's a lot for lovers like what what do you mean like let's bro just say what you like just come out and speak directly so the music speaks louder like all this like dissecting the music after it comes out like oh you heard what he said rewind it bro and you put out 40 songs ain't nobody doing all that bro like like I I missed when Drake used to say the stripper's name go say the girl name you talking about then it has like here's the thing right I'm I'm I'm just being honest I got I think Drake is an amazing artist amazing talent um I got a lot of his music on my phone but I'm saying this right I miss when like he just focused on that music bro you know I mean like he just focused on it like dog talk money talk women that's shilling and that's okay but it reminds me when a boxer loses a fight they gotta change their identity if they had braids they gotta cut their hair if they had their hair color they gotta go back to brown they had a beard they gotta shave it off they gotta when uh Kobe wanted to change his identity he went to the Mamba I just I just think like he gotta change something up like like here's the thing you gotta change some of the con the the the the the what's the word I'm looking for the the content of the music up you got you got you you have to change that up like how you Drake and chicks breaking your heart how you how you Drake they ain't answering your text messages what you mean like not no no not now it was cool the first two or three albums but dog the you they they not responding to you like the young boys cooked then like why they not respond they break they my man listen you can't and then you can't have it both ways yeah you can't be a player you can't be on some players on some on keeping it P and then like oh man who's gonna really love me oh come on bro even you got it's one it's one or the other but other than that man I I think he has some good songs I didn't get through the whole 40 so um so my so my my opinion just coming from the Iceman part of it man make sure y'all tap in man make sure y'all support the brand I'm trying to brainwash y'all to think elite they were trying to brainwash y'all to think like sheeps make sure y'all tap in go to goesactivewear.com use the code real hoopers at checkout to receive 15% off all items all right everything is high quality so make sure y'all tap in make sure y'all like subscribe and share until next time let's continue to think elite and together welcome to score society
